Siemens Simplifies EV Fleet Home Charging

The Depot360 Home Charging Reimbursement system analyzes a vehicle’s location and charging status through advanced telematics, removing the need for networked chargers or dedicated meters. This reduces upfront costs and simplifies program management. It also distinguishes between fleet and personal vehicle charging sessions, ensuring accurate reimbursements when multiple vehicles share a charger.

Fleet operators gain from automated payroll integration, which streamlines reimbursements and cuts administrative work. The system also offers analytics to assess program performance. Siemens Mobility Services, managing 11,000 vehicles in the US, is the first adopter, planning a full rollout by 2030. Adam Orth, US Head of Fleet, praised its efficiency, noting it supports scalable electrification with lower costs and greater flexibility.

Integrated with the Depot360 AI platform, the solution optimizes charging across depots, public stations, and homes, potentially lowering overall expenses. Looking forward, Siemens sees home charging enabling fleet participation in energy programs, offering savings and revenue through initiatives like demand response, though details remain forthcoming.

This launch underscores Siemens’ commitment to scalable, cost-effective fleet electrification solutions.
