Hyundai has revealed plans to construct a pioneering station in Savannah, Georgia, offering both hydrogen and electricity for heavy-duty trucks. Named HTWO Energy Savannah, this facility is an industry first, aimed at supporting zero-emission vehicles in the region.
Key Highlights
- HTWO Energy Savannah will support Hyundai’s new manufacturing plant, HMGMA, using hydrogen fuel cell trucks for clean logistics.
- A collaboration between HTWO Logistics, HydroFleet, and Capital Development Partners.
- Operations are set to begin in late Fall 2025.
- Initial capacity of 1,200 kilograms of hydrogen per day, scalable to 4,200 kilograms.
- Phase two will add electric charging for commercial vehicles.
- Aims to cut emissions in port operations and logistics corridors.
The HTWO Energy Savannah station will power Hyundai’s Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) logistics with clean energy. Hyundai will deploy its XCIENT hydrogen fuel cell trucks to transport goods, reducing regional emissions.
This initiative is a joint venture involving HTWO Logistics for fleet operations, HydroFleet for hydrogen refueling, and Capital Development Partners for overall development. The station is slated to start operating in late Fall 2025.
In its initial phase, the facility will produce and dispense 1,200 kilograms of hydrogen daily, with the ability to expand to 4,200 kilograms as needed. This flexibility ensures it can meet the rising demand for zero-emission vehicles.
A second phase will introduce electric charging for commercial vehicles, broadening the station’s support for sustainable transport options.

Located just 10 miles from the Port of Savannah, a major freight hub, the station will simplify refueling for heavy-duty trucks, boosting efficiency in a busy logistics area. It will significantly contribute to decarbonizing port operations and logistics corridors, aligning with Hyundai’s clean logistics goals.
Jim Park, SVP at Hyundai Motor North America, said, “The HTWO Energy Savannah hydrogen station will fulfill our vision for HMGMA Clean Logistics, enabling a zero-emissions ecosystem.” Scott Moe, CEO of HydroFleet, added, “This project positions Pooler as a leader in the hydrogen economy.” Des Carlisle of the Southeast Hydrogen Energy Alliance noted, “It’s a blueprint for accelerating zero-emission logistics.”
